I am Ryan Johnson – known around the net as Obreadedone- an illustrator, designer, and creator. What started as a goofy nickname given by an old friend (Owen Tyme) evolved into Obreadedone when signing up for Twitch. The name, born from a joke, has become a significant part of my online persona.
In addition, I am the creative mind behind Toxic Tokki – a collection of designs inspired by an old, never-to-be tattoo conceptual sketch. While the bunny tattoo design remains un-tattooed (and the original is long lost), it sparked the foundation of Toxic Tokki with my wife. We offer my designs locally and online, merging my creative design with her personal charisma.
Whether you’re here to support a commission, my streams, or just exploring my designs, I think you’ll find a hodgepodge of designs to enjoy. We tend to bring a blend of humor, cuteness, and toxic positivity (well, maybe not so toxic) into everything.
You can show some support my old friend mentioned above by picking up some of his books. Check out Owen Tyme at owentyme.us
Personal FAQ
Is this ALL of your work?
I had some issues with the 2024 template of WordPress, and something went haywire on my old website. I lost quite a few sketches and Works.
Some of my work, I cannot display. Certain marketplaces and websites, such as selfpubbookcovers.com do not allow me to display my work here. Other pieces have been purchased for commercial use. I try to work an ability to display in my portfolio, but it is not common for commercial works purchased outright.
What’s up with some of those sketches?
I feel that with the advent of AI more artists need to show their human side – their mistakes and bad designs. Support your fellow humans and their humanity.
Where can I find information on your commissions?
Check out the link for my artistree in the navigation bar or you can find it here.
Can I commission you?
Yes. You can either use the Artistree form to fill out one of those (cheapest, easiest to manage for you and me), Email me, or fill out the Custom Request form in the sidebar.
Why all the red tape for commissions? Why are commissions for personal use only?
There’s quite the difference between personal and commercial use for art commissions. You are paying a small amount for most commissions as a personal print. A personal design can go pretty fast, because it’s easier to create based on fair use. The designs are still unique, yet a commercial design is upheld to a higher standard.
Copyright law for works is also another concern. Remember, when in the USA, “buying” a piece of art (whether from Etsy, Amazon, Fiverr, etc), is always buying a print, and not the rights. This is always the case unless you have a contract releasing rights from the artist, or they are your employee. In the same way as buying a book, or a poster, does not give you the right to reproduce that work, buying a commission does not immediately transfer copyright. And so, all commissions (at least in the USA) start as personal use, and then may be commercially purchased and rights worked into a contract.
If you would like a commercial work, I need to sign over these rights, and there are additional costs and concerns (for your protection and mine).
You can see the government FAQ here. Here is another FAQ from LegalZoom.
Who are these people mentioned on your works?
Owen Tyme is an old friend, an author, who I’ve been working with to help him get his work out and about. Check out his website and his Mastodon. He’s a bro.
c0ldstorage is a local Utah music streaming and DJ group. Originally started by rodanmusic, it includes other local DJs like Sodapop and DJ Mutey. They’ve begun to spread and are now located in several US locations (Seattle, etc.). Check out their Utah based Twitch stream on Saturdays. They are bros.
If I don’t have you mentioned and I’ve done work for you, or you are part of c0ldstorage, send me an email and I’ll put a link up.
Why are you yelling at me!?
I really like this font, but yeah, it does look like yelling. Sorry.
