View under Levi’s bed, with the glowing, red eyes of the monster that lives there shining out of the shadows. Well, “lives there” is inaccurate, make that “hides there”.
The descriptive details you’d need of the bedroom are in the first few paragraphs of chapter 2.
If you’re looking to simplify the scene, you could run the perspective from beside the dresser, so light coming from the upper right, and Levi could be leaning against the headboard of his bed, reading.
Another option would be to look in the direction of the lamp and have the details beyond the bed washed out by the light…
So, basically, he’s staying up late, reading, because he’s scared of the dark. Hehe. Such a kid thing to do.
